Joint pain is suffered by many people all over the world. Basically joint pain occurs as acute and chronic joint pain. Acute joint pain is a mild form that lasts for less than 8 weeks but Chronic pain lasts for a longer a period.

Anyone who is suffering from chronic joint pain will tell you that it is not a pleasant experience. Chronic pain can be very painful and make everyday living really difficult. Most of the things we take for granted are considered luxuries by chronic pain sufferers. What are the causes of this kind of condition?

Arthritis is the most common condition that causes joint pain. Though there are many types, one of the most serious types is rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune condition that leads to stiffness and pain in the joint. It is responsible for a lot of people’s joint pain. Osteoarthritis is also a type of arthritis that causes joint pain; it involves deterioration of the cartilage surrounding the joint. This is sort of common among people in their mid forties and above.

Another common cause of joint pain is unusual exertion or overtraining of the joint. This usually leads to acute joint pain. For it to lead to chronic joint pain, it must have combined with other factors like old injuries or strains.

Autoimmune diseases like the one mentioned earlier, rheumatoid arthritis also cause joint pains. Another common autoimmune disease that causes chronic joint pain is bursitis. This is the inflammation or the swelling of the bursae.

Chronic joint pain is not only caused by diseases. Fractures, sprains and other external damages have been found to also be a main cause of joint pains.

Contrary to what most people think, joint pains are not peculiar to the elderly alone. So take good care of yourself. But if you are already suffering from chronic joint pain, don’t be distressed, there are so many treatment options available for you to deal with it. Just do your research well and find out the best option for you, drugs, alternative therapy, taking supplements etc.
