Are you suffering from arthritis joint pain? It is such a dismay thing to have your joint creaking with pain right? You know, your bones hang out in a lot of joints. Your entire body is made up of joints and bones. Knee joints, hip joints, back bones, the joints are in your fingers and toes too. So you can imagine how scary it is to be suffering from arthritis.

At those places where the bones meet, there is another thing called the cartilage. It is a rubbery, protective layer that makes sure that your joints are able to bend smoothly and painlessly. But then, even cartilage cannot do this tremendous task alone. It needs a thin membrane called the “synovium” that provides the fluid that lubricates the moving parts of the joint so the joints can bend smoothly.

When the cartilage wears out of the synovium and becomes inflamed, it is then generally an issue of “osteoarthritis” or “rheumatoid arthritis”. In other words, it will cause arthritis joint pain.

In osteoarthritis, the cartilage can be eroded so seriously that the bone does rub another bone together. This type of arthritis joint pain develops gradually overtime as a simple condition of the wear and tear between your joints over the years. Very few people may luckily escape some degree of osteoarthritis, though the severity varies a great deal.

In fact, if you are over the age of 50, you are very likely to have at least one joint affected by osteoarthritis and which can cause arthritis joint pain. Osteoarthritis can affect both men and women equally and is so far the most common type of arthritis, with almost 16 million Americans with the condition. Almost 75 percent of the 2 million people with rheumatoid arthritis in the US are women. The disease can hit people from as early as teen years.

In rheumatoid arthritis, damage to the synovium is at the source of arthritis joint pain. Doctors are still not absolutely sure what causes it, but most people think that rheumatoid arthritis is a disease in which the immune system attacks certain tissues in the body, which includes those that connect between the joints and the synovium.

Rheumatoid arthritis joint pain started off with swollen, red, stiff, and painful joints. It may then progress until scar tissue forms in the joint In very extreme cases, the bones can actually fuse together.

Exercising, Your Prevention Options to overcome arthritis joint pain

So what can I do to prevent the condition? I would suggest that you invest a little time in developing a good weight-bearing low-impact exercise or a regular stretching exercise. This can add up to great results when it comes to preventing arthritis joint pain. Strong muscles can help protect the joints from wear and tear, and exercise movements keep joints flexible.

That is why it is so important for fitness exercises to be part of your life, even if you are 50 years and over. However, most people over 50 are still right where they always were, sitting back and watching others jog by. Most of them are contended that that exercise is just for people who have been athletic all their life. Some even say exercise is only for young people and engaging into exercise will do them more harm than good. This is definitely not true. Exercise can truly help you with your condition. So start exercising now to overcome your arthritis joint pain problems.
